D32 hosted its annual Veterans Day Program on Nov. 8.

Perry County School District 32 hosted its annual Veterans Day program this morning. Students invited their special veterans to join them for breakfast before the program, which was held in the PHS gym this year because the football field was too wet. Despite the change in location, the morning was filled with Pirate Patriotism. Col. (Ret.) Kevin Robinson spoke to the students about his own experiences in the military after being introduced to a recruiter in 1979 as a PHS student. He also encouraged students to ask the veterans they know about their time in service. The district’s music programs entertained and honored the veterans in attendance with selections including “The Star Spangled Banner,” “The Armed Forces Medley,” and “Unsung Heroes.” We offer our special thanks to the American Legion Post 133 Color Guard and extend our gratitude to all veterans of America’s Armed Forces.
