Perry County School District 32 will celebrate School Board Appreciation Month this March in appreciation of our elected school board members.
The District 32 Board of Education members are President Nancy Voelker, Vice President Jamie Robinson, Kevin Bachmann, Dominic Blythe, Richard Dix, Melissa Hahn, and Mark Gremaud. Together, they have served our schools for a total of 53 years. Kevin Bachmann will celebrate 20 years on the board on April 1.
Members will be recognized during their March 15, 2023 meeting, when they will enjoy a performance by the Perryville High School Chamber Choir in the Performing Arts Auditorium at the Central Office (Old Senior High School). Board meetings are open to the public and begin at 7 pm on the second Wednesday of each month. “Missourians benefit every day from the dedicated energies and countless hours devoted by the more than 3,600 local school board members in every community across the state,” said Brett Manie of Missouri School Boards’ Association. “These public servants are elected by local constituents and do not receive compensation for their tireless efforts. As citizens who serve students and represent their communities, school board members face complex and demanding challenges.”
During the month of March, communities across the state will honor the dedicated service of local boards of education during School Board Recognition Month.
“The goal is to build awareness and understanding of the important function an elected board of education plays in communities and schools,” Manie said. “All Missouri citizens are asked to recognize the important contributions of these community members and focus attention on the vital role these public officials play in the education of Missouri’s children.”
School Board Recognition Month is sponsored by the Missouri School Boards’ Association. The Missouri School Boards’ Association is a private, not-for-profit organization that exists to help school boards ensure all students succeed.
