During students’ Community Time classes at Perry County Middle School this week students were invited to the Crow’s Nest to play Book Bingo. The game was run by the middle school’s gifted class. The gifted students called the numbers, checked the cards, and helped students pick from over 450 books. Students played for 25 minutes which was enough time for every student to win a book. “It was super easy and pretty fun,” said Devin Kutz, 8th grader at PCMS. Each year the PCMS gifted class has one give back activity. Mrs. Krieger, the middle school gifted teacher said, “I like to encourage the students to practice their public speaking skills without making speeches. Book Bingo was a fun way for them to speak in front of their peers. Seeing the excitement of winning and the groans of not hearing their numbers called was entertaining because I knew they would all get a book in the end.” The leftover books were donated to the middle school ELA teachers.
