The MFA Oil Foundation has awarded a grant to Perry County School District 32 to provide two lifesaving AEDs for campus, home to over 2,200 students and 350 staff members.
The additional AEDs, which are used to assist people experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, will help fill gaps in AED coverage on the district’s 116-acre campus. “In addition to students and staff, the district hosts many events attended by the public,” said Safety Director Garrett Schott. “We have used AEDs to save lives on campus, and have been working to ensure that AEDs are placed where they can be accessed in minutes, when every moment counts. MFA Oil Foundation’s generous grant helps us get closer to that goal.” The grant award was $1,900.
The MFA Oil Foundation supports nonprofit organizations working to improve communities where MFA Oil has a significant concentration of members and employees. Since it was established in 1998, the MFA Oil Foundation has awarded more than $3 million in grants.
MFA Senior Director of Employee Engagement and Culture Tom May described the MFA Oil Foundation as “a program that allows our company to give support back to the rural communities that are the foundation of our business. The grants that the Foundation awards help support many youth programs and organizations active in addressing and solving community problems and improving the quality of life.”
